Questionable Ingredients
Natural Flavors
Natural flavors is a tricky ingredient for vegans because it’s an umbrella, meaning that several ingredients can be placed here and the source of these ingredient can be both animal-sourced and plant-based. The problem is that the source is almost never disclosed on the ingredients label.
Now since the the product is apple juice, the natural flavors is highly likely to be vegan-friendly. I still worth mentioning that National Geographic disclosed that some vanilla flavors actually contained butt goo from beavers. So vegans can never be sure when it comes to natural flavors.
Conclusion
With probably all flavors of Mott’s apple juice being vegan is amazing news for vegans. There are some controversial ingredients that can sometimes be found in other apple juice brands such as sugar and this this has an issue with bone char being used in the production process.
The best part of Mott’s apple juice is the fact that the only sugar used is natural sugar from apples.
