As always I’ve highlighted the ingredients that we need to take a closer look at.
There are several ingredients made from milk that can be found in Serene Sour Cream & Onion such as whey, sour cream powder, nonfat milk and cream.
Since it’s made from cow’s milk all these ingredients are not vegan.
Organic Cane Sugar
Cane sugar is a very popular sugar in the candy and snacks industry. All tho sugar is 100% vegan in it’s raw form, there is a scenario where cane sugar can be classified as non-vegan.
Cane sugar is brown in it’s raw form and in order for the sugar to fit the product better it is often refined. In this process the sugar is bleached and the a very common practice is to use bone char from dead cows.
If this were to be case then the sugar would be non-vegan, because it’s exploiting animals in the production process.
This is an ingredient that vegans needs to be aware of because it can hide many ingredients and they could potentially be ingredients derived from animals.
Most of the times natural flavors are vegan-friendly, but there really isn’t a way to be 100% sure unless the company discloses it on the label or says that the product is vegan.
Are Product Vegetarian?
All Late July chips flavors are suited for all vegetarians with the exception of Serene Sour Cream & Onion, which is suited for lacto-ovo and lacto vegetarians.
